Artist explores consumers view of meat
Published:  18 March, 2014

An artist, who has used art to look at our relationship with meat, is presenting her work in Brighton throughout April.

Solange Leon, who will showcase her work at the Naked Eye Gallery, created the art by exploring how we look at and think about our food. One of her focuses is her concern over our detachment from what we eat. Leon also worked with a butcher, Andrew Sharp, to gain insight into how skinning and butchering would affect her experience of food.

She said: “I wanted to show how beautiful the food is as an animal – alive and dead – and question our detachment from that awareness.”

The exhibition will run from 5-30 April.
