Freedom Food members can now sign up to a new free online supplier directory, which the animal welfare scheme said could be great for business for its suppliers.
The directory is open to all suitable businesses that are interested in sourcing higher-welfare produce. Freedom Food has more than 3,000 members across farming and food production.
Freedom Food marketing manager Liam Kurzeja said: “We had noticed a significant increase in enquiries from food retailers, restaurants and caterers searching for Freedom Food suppliers via our network.
“The solution was the concept of an online business-to-business directory which helps match our members and those looking to source their higher welfare produce simply and quickly.”
Freedom Food is encouraging retailers, restaurants, catering companies and other businesses to visit the supplier directory and register. It added that the system was secure, with full contact details only available to appropriate and registered companies.
Freedom Food is a UK assurance and food-labelling scheme, set up by the RSPCA 20 years ago, dedicated to improving farm animal welfare.
