Sainsbury’s joins the fight against waste

Supermarket chain Sainsbury’s is the latest retailer to do its part in fighting waste by introducing a new ‘snap-pack’ to its range of Taste the Difference sausages. 

The new packaging is split into two sets of sausages with a seal that allows the covering to be peeled back individually, meaning consumers can cook one half and freeze the other.

In addition, all of Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference sausages are now gluten-free and all pork sausages are made from RSPCA-assured, outdoor-bred British pork.

This development comes after Tesco launched its waste-reducing poultry packaging, allowing consumers to cook one portion of chicken while keeping the other fresh.
