Essentia takes top award for food-safety standards

Ingredients specialists Essentia Protein Solutions, which includes numerous butchers among its customers, has been recognised with the BRC Global Standard for food safety for the 21st consecutive year. 

The firm was awarded with an AA honour, the highest possible grade, for all its dried foods, ingredients and raw-prepared products – both meat and vegetarian. The global standard acknowledges excellence in food manufacturing and operations.

“We continuously strive to attain world-class standards in food safety and quality, and this is proof of our commitment,” said Tom Cooke, Essentia’s regional director for the UK & Ireland.

“We are tremendously proud of our achievement, which means our customers can be 100% confident that our products are sourced and manufactured to the highest standards.”

At the same time as this honour, the company has successfully renewed its British Quality Assured Pork (BQAP) accreditation for the ninth consecutive year for its natural DRINDE™ range of functional proteins.

The recognition is given by the British Meat Processors Association and conforms with the Red Tractor Assured scheme criteria for manufacturers that choose to offer quality British food.
