Planning under way for NBW

What are your plans for the coming National Butchers’ Week, is the question from MTJ as the week-long promotion rapidly approaches.

Butchers up and down the UK will be putting together some thoughts, and MTJ is urging all meat retailers to get their thinking caps on and take advantage of some the materials available to them via www.nationalbutchersweek.co.uk.

Balloons, aprons, sausage- and burger-making lesson plans and PR toolkits are all available through the site.

Ed Bedington, editor of MTJ, which organises the week, said: “I’ve been speaking to a number of butchers in the last few weeks, and there are some good things in the pipeline. If you’re a butcher, this is too good an opportunity to miss, so get planning and give us a call to let us know what you’ll be doing.”

MTJ has also set up a new Facebook page dedicated to the week, featuring recipes, videos and more to spread the word among consumers. Sign up and spread the word by clicking here. A Twitter feed has also been created, and is available by clicking here.
