South West butcher celebrates win

A south west-based butcher is celebrating after being declared ‘Butcher of the Year’ in the Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards held at Cheltenham Racecourse recently.

The awards, which saw 380 guests including Prue Leith, Adam Henson and food writer Matthew Fort attend, celebrate the importance of local produce in the area.

Andy Creese Butchers was nominated for the ‘Butcher of the Year’ award by loyal customers of the shop in Newent, and the judges of the category said they were particularly impressed with “the locally sourced products, the range of flavoured sausages and the friendly, helpful staff”. 

“We’re really chuffed to have won this award for a second year in a row, especially as we were up against some really strong competition,” said Andy. “It’s a reflection of the continued hard work by my team and it’s great to know that our customers appreciate the effort we put in to provide top-class products as well as excellent service.”
