Country Valley introduces home delivery website

North east-based Country Valley Foods has launched a premium home delivery food website, offering locally sourced meat direct to the public.

The www.countryvalley.co.uk website will give people the chance to buy specially selected restaurant cuts, farmed and butchered locally.

Joint managing director for Country Valley James Munro said offering fresh and local meat, cut by master butchers, was central to the business and the website. He said customers would be able to buy cuts that were not readily available on the high street.

“Some of the new cuts have been chosen due to their popularity with our restaurant customers: for example, Grand Reserve Cote du Boeuf and Grand Reserve Osso Bucco. But we have also included some of our best-sellers, such as our Grand Reserve dry-aged steaks and premium pork sausages; which we make in natural sausage casings,” he said.

Country Valley, established in 1971, is a family business operating from Darlington, which acquired the north east butchery chain Newboulds in 2007. Its new website will offer a variety of meat and cuts, including a Grand Reserve 21- to 30-day matured beef; grass-fed lamb from North Yorkshire and Durham; free-range herb-fed chickens; and Gressingham duck, among other things.
