Industry to come together at Awards ceremony

The 2006 Meat Industry Awards Dinner scheduled for 30 November, is once again set to be a major celebration of success for the UK meat industry.

Now in its eighth year the Awards recognise excellence right across the UK market in the following categories:

Manufacturer of the Year

Catering Butcher of the Year

Best Trade Organisation

Best Equipment/Machinery supplier

Best Packaging for a Product

Best Training Initiative

Meat Retailer of the Year - Independent

Meat Retailer of the Year - Multiple

Britain's Best Sausage

Best Organic Product - Meat or Poultry

Best Pork Product

Best Lamb Product

Best Beef Product

Best Poultry Product

Meat Industry Personality of the Year

There is also a special Award presented by the BMPA recognising the Young Meat Processing Personality of the Year.

Celebrity chef Brian Turner CBE will host and present the dinner and, according to organiser Mandy Parker, only two or three tables remain, which should mean the event is set for the usual sell out.
