AIBP Monaghan, a subsidiary of AIBP, the largest beef processing business in Ireland and the UK, has announced the commissioning of a major development at its Clones facility.

Following an investment of €10m, the firm is this week opening a world class added value beef processing facility which will mark an important milestone in the development of the Group.  This is the second stage in an overall €20m investment programme at this site.

The technology being adopted is being used in Ireland for the first time and will introduce to the Irish and UK market significant operating efficiencies over traditional beef boning technologies. The plant, which currently employs 100 people, will employ an additional 120 people (initially 62 and increasing to 120 by August 2008).

The development represents an important milestone in the technological development of the overall Irish Food Processors Group (IFP, the parent company of AIBP) the largest beef processor in Ireland the UK and the largest beef exporter in Europe. IFP operates 30 facilities throughout Ireland and the UK specialising in chilled, frozen, and microwaveable snack meat products serving major retailers throughout Europe and the Middle East.
