Free Eblex meetings for beef and sheep farmers
Published:  28 January, 2014

Beef and sheep farmers in the south of England will be able to attend a series of free Eblex meetings to find out about the work Eblex is doing to improve the profitability and sustainability of the English beef and lamb sector.

The events will be held in the evening in Ashford, Sedgemoor and Launceston on 30 January, 4 February and 5 February respectively. Levy payers will be able to address current challenges and discover how resources can help producers improve their bottom line.

Eblex senior regional manager for the south Dr Phil Hadley said: “It is important for us to effectively communicate the work that we are doing and give levy payers the chance to meet key Eblex personnel face-to-face and discuss the issues that matter to them.

“While many people may be aware of the on-farm and knowledge transfer activity we undertake through the Better Returns Programme, they may know less about the range of other activity we are involved in, such as new cuts, marketing campaigns with retailers and the ongoing focus of opening additional export markets.”

There will be presentations on the current market, the forecast outlook on livestock numbers, export activity, and the trade marketing work being undertaken with retailers.

The events will begin at 6pm.
