Meat retailing masterclass on offer
Published:  16 June, 2014

Westley Consulting, a consulting agency for food and agricultural businesses, is hosting a meat retailing masterclass, which aims to educate butchers and farmers on the importance of meat retailing and best retailing practice.

It will be held in Manchester on 26 June 2014, and features talks from four retail experts: Andrew Fearne, professor and director of Kent Business School; Debbie Kemp, retail management lecturer at Kent Business School; Alastair Beacon, director of Westley Consulting; and Rachel Burberry, retail consultant at Westley Consulting.

Organisers hope attendees will leave with an understanding of what their “customer offer” is; how to distinguish themselves from competitors; the “nuts and bolts” of best practice; how to drive sales; and how to plan for a successful future.

Alastair Beacon, who is organising the day, said: “The event, which is being heavily subsidised by the organisers on a one-off basis as a pilot, is open to anyone involved in retailing meat or who is interested in the subject. Businesses that wholesale to shops may well wish to invite some of their customers to the event as a way of helping them to improve their businesses.”

The masterclass will be held at Dalton Ellis Halls of Residence in Victoria Park Manchester on 26 June. For more details and for tickets contact: rachel.burberry@westleyconsulting.co.uk
