Bpex conference tackles pig feed and data
Published:  01 July, 2014

The recent Bpex Innovation Conference attracted around 200 people, with speakers tackling issues of pig feed and data interpretation.

For those who were not available to attend the event on 24 June at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, the speakers’ presentations and videos are now available online.

In the morning, presentations covered issues around pig feed. Speakers included Mick Hazzledine from Premier Nutrition, who discussed potential pig feeding solutions, Richard Hooper from Harper Adams University, who covered feed blending, and Chris Tapsell from KWS UK, who looked at what answers plant breeding might provide to pig nutrition.

The afternoon looked at the interpretation of data, with presentations from the likes of David Speller of Applied Poultry, Hugh Crabtree from Farmex, and Tom Allen of DC & RJ Allen & Partners. Two of the afternoon’s speakers looked at problems encountered by producers, and how the interpretation of data had helped to identify and solve them.
