Are you visiting Bakers' and Butchers' Fair this Sunday?

With only days to go until this year’s Bakers’ and Butchers’ Fair, Meatinfo.co.uk takes a look at what’s in store for visitors.

As well as the chance to meet with exhibitors such as Eblex, Bizerba, Lucas Ingredients, The National Federation of Meat & Food Traders (NFMFT) and the Dalesman Group, the show will feature a full day of stage presentations and demos, designed to give you ideas which could help improve your business. There will also be entertainment in the form of live judging of sausage contest, the Champion of Champions and the National Pie Competition 2014, with the winners to be announced by our special celebrity guest, television personality Keith Chegwin.

10.30AM - Making the most of social media

Matthew Southam, Eblex & Stefan Porter, Market Porter
“Matthew will present the Eblex findings about independent butchers, how many are online and emphasise the stats behind the online market. Stefan will then explain the challenges, logistics, costs, pitfalls, benefits of an online market.”

12.35PM - What is an authentic Melton Mowbray pork pie?
Stephen Hallam, Dickinson & Morris
“Stephen from Dickinson & Morris explains how stilton cheese and pork pies are linked with the town of Melton Mowbray. Pick up a tip on raising a pie and for a lucky few, have a go yourself.”

1.30PM - Profit from pork pies
Steve Derrick, Lucas Ingredients
“Steve will talk about how butchers can build their reputation as an artisan butcher and add value to their business and product range. He will also demonstrate how easy it is to make your own Pork Pies using Lucas products.”

3.00PM - Competition presentations
