Bagley blog reacts to campylobacter results

In the wake of the FSA's latest quarterly campylobacter survey results, the Association of Independent Meat Suppliers' (AIMS) Norman Bagley gives his reaction in our latest blog post.

The survey results showed that on average, 70% of chicken tested was infected; Asda posted the worst results with 78% of its chicken skin samples testing positive for the bacteria.

Tesco had the lowest incidence of infected chicken at the highest level, and was the only retailer with infected chicken lower than the industry average.

However, Bagley said the dangers of the bactaria have been blown out of proportion, and he has called for the debate on the subject to be expanded to include consumer involvement.
