Lincolnshire butcher’s shop gets facelift

An award-winning Lincolnshire butcher has refurbished his flagship store with a state-of-the-art dry-aging cabinet.

Simpsons, which was awarded Best Butcher’s Shop in the Middle and East of England for the last two years by Meat Trades Journal has six shops in Lincolnshire, and the Heckington store is the latest to receive a face lift.

“We want people to have the confidence of going to their local butcher’s shop and getting advice and help with their meat needs in modern facilities,” said owner Gary Simpson.

“We will have the traditional cuts on offer, but then we will be able to introduce them to a whole range of exciting and contemporary products they may not have tried before.”

Simpsons is a member of the Q Guild of Butchers and in addition to the recognition from MTJ, has won several prizes at the Smithfield Awards. It is also the reigning Lincolnshire Champion butcher, winning individual honours for its cracked black pepper Lincolnshire sausage.
