New Q Guild corporate members announced

Six meat sector suppliers from across the country have been awarded Butchers Q Guild corporate membership.  

The new members are Walters Turkeys, Weddel Swift Distribution, Hawk Safety, The Dalesman Group, Innovative Food Ingredients and Thomas Ford (Smithfield).

Walters Turkeys, based at Bower Farm, Aldworth, near Reading in Berkshire, is a traditional family business which has been producing Christmas turkeys for 40 years.

The company sells turkeys direct from the farm, delivers to customers directly and also supplies a large number of farm shops and butchers, producing free-range bronze turkeys, organic free-range bronze turkeys and traditional farm fresh white barn-reared turkeys.

Weddel Swift Distribution, based in Cold Higham, Northamptonshire, has a history going back over 100 years. The company operates a nationwide chilled and frozen distribution network, and has been a Q Guild corporate member in the past.

Supplying traditional butchers’ shops in the UK, with 14 depots across the country, the company is looking to grow its business.

Hawk Safety, whose head office is in Ludgate Hill, London, with a district office also based in St Albans, is an innovative leader in food safety and compliance, providing a complete hardware and software solution for organisations of all types and sizes.

The Dalesman Group in Bradford, West Yorkshire, is a third generation family business, established in 1979 that has grown to become a market leader in the manufacturing of seasonings, fine food ingredients, culinary and functional blends.

Innovative Food Ingredients, based in Dukinfield, Cheshire, is distributor for AVO, a leading German spice, liquid marinade and sauce specialist, and Newly Weds Foods (NWF), including the famous Arthur Pipkins brand, among others.

Thomas Ford (Smithfield), based in London opposite Smithfield Meat Market is currently celebrating its milestone 125th year in the business and offers everything from award-winning sausage mixes to boning knives, mincers and meat slicers to paper bags.
