Dalziel recognised for gluten-free products

Dalziel Ingredients, suppliers of seasoning blends, cures and functional ingredients into the butchery sector, has been recognised with a Crossed Grain symbol by Coeliac UK for its gluten-free products. 

All of Dalziel’s products, including seasonings, complete mixes, rubs, glazes, functional blends, batter, crumbs, snack seasonings, cures and brines can be developed as gluten free, while existing products can be re-formulated to be gluten free.

“With ever growing demand from retailers for more gluten-free choices, they have to rely on their suppliers to confirm their products are legally gluten free,” said Richard Wilson, sales director at Dalziel Ingredients.

“We’ve made significant investment in establishing a dedicated gluten-free line that eliminates cross-contamination of product at every stage. We’re delighted to receive official recognition from Coeliac UK and are proud to display the Crossed Grain symbol.”

Dalziel has heavily invested in a state-of-the-art factory and a new product development centre in Gateshead, where it has a dedicated gluten-free line.

“Dalziel’s products had to meet strict criteria to ensure they are gluten-free, both in terms of the ingredients and production process,” said Sarah Fleet, chief executive at Coeliac UK. “This provides certainty to consumers of the gluten-free status of all their products, which is essential for people with coeliac disease who must follow a strict gluten-free diet for life.”

Dalziel’s product development team also advises the industry on new flavour trends and concepts, market analysis, factory processes, recipe formulations and product quality enhancements.
