Online learning service to benefit industry

The meat sector is being encouraged to sign up to a specially designed webinar that explores the changing face of technology in the food industry.

With an emphasis on staff training and compliance, online learning (or e-learning) is becoming an increasingly popular format. The webinar ‘How to embed online learning into your organisation’ is delivered by Appetite Learning, an online educational platform in partnership with William Reed – Meat Trades Journal’s parent company - and Virtual College.

In this technical age, the webinar will provide a digital platform for all aspects of the meat industry from processors, manufacturers, butchers and retailers to learn how best to train staff and secure the future of their businesses.

‘How to embed online learning into your organisation’ will be presented by Rod Knox from Virtual College. It is designed to offer an introduction into online learning and answer questions about the benefits it can bring to the business as a whole, what challenges companies face regarding training and how e-learning can specifically benefit organisations in the meat industry, and the wider food and drink sector.

Knox first launched Virtual College in 1995. After working hard to deliver online solutions for 20 years, his vision of widespread e-learning is now a reality.

The online learning platform has not been created to replace traditional models of teaching, but rather to enhance them by creating innovative solutions.

The webinar will take place on Wednesday, 21 September at 3pm. Participants are able to pose questions to Knox, as well as receiving a free course from Appetite Learning.
