Appleton’s to open new Boroughbridge shop
Published:  08 December, 2016

Independent butcher’s Appleton’s is to open a new shop in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire.

The site is where the former high street butcher’s J & L Meats used to operate. The new shop is set to open on 15 December. It will be open in time to take Christmas orders for Appleton’s specialities, such as pork pies, roast ham and sausages.

Appleton’s has shops in Ripon, Wetherby and, most recently, central York.

The butcher’s other sites in Yorkshire are all speciality pork butchers. However, the Boroughbridge shop will continue to sell a range of meats, including locally sourced beef and lamb, free-range chicken, as well as Appleton’s signature speciality pork products.

Owner Anthony Sterne said: “The British butcher is a national treasure, part of our heritage, and we’re proud to be keeping that tradition. Keeping a butcher on the high street is vital to the market town thriving. We are really looking forward to opening in Boroughbridge, a market town with brilliant businesses and a proper sense of community.”
