A nine-week campaign has been launched this week by Lloyd Maunder to dispel any myths that buying local meats from its high street butcher's shops is expensive or extravagant.

The 'Meat Smart' campaign will highlight the value and quality of local meats, available at the 14 Lloyd Maunder outlets in Devon and Cornwall.

During the campaign, customers will be able to enjoy promotions and special offers on pork, beef and lamb, all of which are sourced locally.

"We can keep prices competitive because we butcher the whole carcase, and customers can choose their cuts and quantities according to their budgets," said chain owner Andrew Maunder.

The chain has also invited producers and farmers to appear with butchers in the shops on special guest appearance days
