Heck to create 50 jobs at new multi-million pound factory

Sausage producer Heck is set to introduce 50 local jobs after its new factory in Sinderby, North Yorkshire, is created at the end of April. 

The firm’s current production facility only has space for two production lines. However, the new £3.5 million investment will allow for this to be expanded to cater to demand. The 1,985 square metre floor space of the new facility will also give Heck the freedom to expand its product range.

First started by the Keeble family four years ago, the business now claims to be one of the last independents in the British sausage industry. Since its infancy, it has grown at an impressive pace and is on track to turn over £18m this year, which it attributes to its innovative recipes and products.

A variety of roles are on offer at its new facility, including HR, finance, purchasing, production, digital and marketing positions.

“We look for people with confidence – people who have personality and a can-do attitude,” said company co-founder Andrew Keeble. “Of course there are specialist roles within the business, but we’re very open to the idea of people changing career paths.”

Marketing and events planner Jack Tate (pictured) said that Heck welcomed people from a range of backgrounds: “Anybody can make a good fit, but it’s great if you are forward-thinking, fun, spontaneous, willing and self-driven. We’re very much all in it together.”

The family-run business currently has a team of 70 employees. With products available in major supermarkets, Heck’s sales have experienced an annual rise of 170% over a three-year period, with the company being ranked as the UK’s fourth fastest-growing private company and Yorkshire’s fastest-growing company in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100.
