NFMFT prepares for biggest ever National Products Competition

Butchers are being encouraged to submit entries for the National Federation of Meat & Food Traders’ (NFMFT) National Meat Products competition, taking place on Wednesday 24 May. 

With 22 categories to be won, this is the largest competition to date. New categories include the Young Sausage Maker award.

“With the industry attracting more young people into butchery we felt the time was right to include this award,” said NFMFT chief executive Roger Kelsey.

All entries will be judged live on the day with gold, silver and bronze awards being presented to products that achieve the required standard.

Trophies will also be awarded to category winners, and a special Supreme Product Champion will be named. The winner of the latter award will gain automatic entry into Meat Trades Journal’s Champion of Champions later this year.

The competition is open to all independent butchers, farm shops, manufacturers and processors. Entry forms can be downloaded at www.nfmft.co.uk.
