Woodall’s expands audience reach with ‘sophisticated snacks’

Charcuterie specialist Woodall’s has entered into the meat snacking category with a range of products it has branded as “sophisticated snacks”. 

Available in both stick and bite formats, the new range consists of three flavours, Classic, Spicy and Gin.

“We are really excited about these new products,” James Crease, sales manager at Woodall’s, explained. “They tick all the boxes for current trends; an increase in snacking and protein snacking in particular and a move away from sugar and carbs. When you add to this a good-looking, sophisticated format and our British heritage and reputation for great-tasting products, we are hoping to create quite a stir with this new range.”

The innovative new range is created using traditional methods at Woodall’s in Manchester, using British outdoor-bred pork. As well as being high in protein, the snacks contain no added nitrates and are lactose- and gluten-free. The long shelf-life of the snacks means they can be stored ambiently.

“We have already been sampling the products at a handful of select trade events and the feedback has been incredibly positive,” continued Crease. “Our gin salami bites, in particular, are really causing a stir, especially as there are so many new artisan gins on the market now.”

Both the 10g sticks and bite options come in bulk packs of 500g. “We are recommending that these be decanted and stored in Kilner jars on the deli counter for an attractive display of these new snacks.”
