Fish and chip shop revamps to meet consumer demand

A Doncaster fish and chip shop, Golden Cod, has announced an £80,000 refurbishment in order to meet customer demands.

The investment will create an open-plan layout for the family-run business as it expands its offerings to its consumers.

“Ten years ago, we were doing fish and chips, but now our pizzas and kebabs have taken off – customers love it,” commented Gurdit Singh, business owner. “All our pizza bases are fresh and sauces are homemade.”

To celebrate the shop’s re-opening on 17 August, a 10% discount is available to customers when they order online on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 31 August. To redeem the discount, enter the code SAVE10 when checking out online.

Golden Cod sources its fish from JJ Food Service, which has recently introduced a new range of line-caught Icelandic cod and haddock.

Since opening its doors in 1997, the Golden Cod has become an active member of the community, supporting local football teams and regularly donating prizes to local charities.

“We’re all about local businesses and would like to thank G&J Builders for an excellent job on the refurb, JJ Food Service Doncaster for food and drink supplies and FOODit for our online ordering website,” continued Singh.
