New product development drives ingredients laboratory

Ingredients firm Salutivia has opened a new laboratory in Redditch, dedicated to new product development (NPD).

The firm focuses on providing market relevant technical support to customers that will aid them in developing new products that meet their specific needs.

Salutivia’s new laboratory is set up especially to meet demands in the meat and fish sectors. Speciality ingredients allow phosphate and lactate replacements with clean-label blends allowing for greater yields, while enzyme binders improve appearance and yield.

Due to industry relationships, the company has access to state-of-the-art pilot plant meat and fish production facilities which allow it to have the freedom to trial products and concepts on an industrial scale.

Salutivia’s managing director Steven Cartlidge commented: “This strategic investment in commercially relevant NPD is combined with leading food and nutrition ingredients and best-in-class services to forge ultra-dynamic partnerships with customers and supplier partners.”

The new laboratory will give its supplier partners a centre of excellence to promote raw materials in the market and offers a formulation and reformulation service.

Salutivia distributes raw materials and ingredients into the UK and Ireland and prides itself on innovating at every given opportunity.
