Published:  09 October, 2017

Tickets are now available to attend the 128th Scottish Food Trade Association (SFTA) dinner.

Taking place on Thursday 9 November, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow, the event will attract leading experts from across the sector.

Among those expected to attend this year are Christine Tacon, the first UK Groceries Code Adjudicator; Kate Salmon, executive director of the Scottish Wholesale Grocers Association, and Andrew Kuyk CBE, director general of the Provision Trade Federation.

Malcolm Wilde, SFTA president, commented: “The SFTA Dinner is one of the highlights of the Scottish food and drink calendar, and we’re looking forward to another very successful event on 9 November, with great food, entertainment and networking opportunities.”

Joining the dinner as guest speakers will be Archie Mitchell, an S2 pupil at Lockerbie Academy, who will be reciting the Address to a Haggis poem. Retired police inspector and former Wag of the Year winner Bert Thomson, and Scottish comedian Ray Bradshaw will also be entertaining the attendees with speeches.

The event’s main sponsors for the year are The Grocer Company of Glasgow, with support sponsorship from Macsween, Braehead Foods, Bells Food Group, Lactalis, First Milk and the Radisson Blu Hotel.

The chosen charity is FareShare Glasgow & The West of Scotland, which redistributes quality surplus food to groups working with vulnerable people, with funds raised from the raffle going towards the cause.

Corporate tables can be booked for 10 or 12 guests, with individual tickets also available.
