National Butchers’ Week product competition is back

It’s time for butchers to get their thinking caps on as the National Butchers’ Week product competition returns for 2018. 

We’re calling on butchers around the country to show off their creativity and tell us about the products they’re creating for National Butchers’ Week to enter them in our innovation competition.

Last year’s winner was Gordon’s Butchers and Fine Foods for its Steak, Spinach and Halloumi Kebabs.

According to owner Gordon Robson, one of the key selling points of the kebabs was the fact they cook quickly. “Customers love how quickly and easily they cook and the kebabs fit really well with the healthy eating plans a lot of my customers are on,” he said. “They taste fantastic and can adapt to any dish as they can be served to accompany many different rice, salad or potato dishes.”

He added that, to keep up with demand, he has had to buy a second kebab dicing machine.
